If you have configured the sorting option to sort by distance in the Store Locator plugin but it is not functioning as expected, please review the following points to troubleshoot the issue:
- Verify Sorting Option:
- Ensure that you have selected the sorting option to “Distance” in the Store Locator plugin settings. This setting determines the default sorting behavior for store listings.
- Check Shortcode Attributes:
- Confirm that you have not added any “sort_by” attribute in the shortcode used to display the store locator. The “sort_by” attribute can override the default sorting option and may interfere with the distance-based sorting.
- Review Store Priorities:
- It is common for users to assign priority numbers to stores using the “order” attribute, which can affect the sorting order. If you have assigned priority numbers to stores, it may cause certain stores to appear at the top regardless of the distance. To resolve this, set the “order” attribute value to zero for all stores unless you specifically want them to have a different priority.
